Privacy Policy
The short version: PlainCents collects very little. Here is what is true today, and what will change as we add features.
Last updated: April 25, 2026.
What we collect today
As of the date above, PlainCents does not run analytics, does not set its own cookies, does not have user accounts, and does not collect personal information from visitors on the server.
The only data the calculators store is what you type into them — and that data lives in your browser's local storage on your own device. It is never sent to PlainCents. Clearing your browser data clears it.
Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs that include IP address, requested URL, response status, and user agent. These are operational logs used for security and reliability. PlainCents does not use them for tracking or advertising.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or share your information.
- We do not run third-party advertising networks on the site.
- We do not build marketing profiles based on your usage.
- We do not require an account to use any calculator.
What is likely to change
PlainCents is a young site. As we add features, this policy will be updated and the date at the top will change. Things on the near horizon:
- Privacy-friendly analytics (likely Vercel Analytics or similar). When this lands, we will record page views, referring site, country, and device type. We will not collect anything that personally identifies you.
- Affiliate links. When you click a link to a financial product on a partner's site, that partner may set their own cookies and apply their own privacy policy. Their policy — not ours — governs what they do.
- Email newsletter. If we add a newsletter signup, we will only collect the email address you give us, and only use it to send the newsletter. You will be able to unsubscribe at any time.
When any of these features goes live, this page will be updated to describe exactly what is collected and why.
Your rights
If you live in California, the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with data-protection laws (CCPA, GDPR, and similar), you have the right to know what personal data a site holds about you, to ask for a copy, and to ask for it to be deleted.
Today that request is easy to fulfill: PlainCents holds no personal data about you on the server, so there is nothing to export and nothing to delete.
Children
PlainCents is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.
Affiliate links and third parties
Some pages on PlainCents include links to financial products from third parties. When you click one of those links, you leave our site. The destination site has its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies. We do not control what they collect. See our affiliate disclosure for how those links work and how PlainCents earns money from them.
